What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a system for health and healing.

Rooted in the wisdom of ancient sages, this vast science was written down over 5,000 years ago and is considered the mother of all natural medicines. Its name translates to “knowledge of life and longevity.” Ayurveda explains how nature can be used to create balance in the body and mind—often addressing imbalances long before symptoms even present themselves. As a time-tested approach in health promotion, Ayurveda can support you in restoring nature-based rhythms, establishing a practice of nurturing rituals, connecting to your true nature, and ultimately, unlocking your potential to heal.

Ayurveda...is a science and an art of appropriate living that helps achieve longevity. It can guide every individual in the proper choice of diet, living habits, and exercise to restore balance in the body, mind, and consciousness, thus preventing disease from gaining a foothold in the system.

Ayurveda and Movement Therapy

Ayurveda is a complete system—and the overarching lens—through which I approach health and healing. I have been a student of Ayurveda and also movement for more than a decade. My practice includes both Ayurveda and Movement Therapy so that I can offer you the power of mind-body medicine. Ayurveda and Movement Therapy provide comprehensive frameworks to work more holistically with you — supporting the nervous system, digestive system, immune system, reproductive system, and how your body (and soul) move. I love integrating this ancient wisdom with modern science perspectives and lifestyle medicine to meet you where you are at in your process of health and healing.

As a practitioner and educator, I am also immersed in the ongoing process of health and healing. Travel over to my journal to see what my clients and myself are learning, inquiring about, and experiencing now:
